Trust my rage
I have a whole moving system. Basically, the entirehouse must be super organized first. This is really important for the other end. Then, I let the movers label but I go back and color code each room. Then, on the other end, I put signs on each room designating where the colors go along with major pieces of furniture.
I try to get rid of asmuch as possible before each move. That helps a lot too

I drew up an architectural floorplan of the new apartment with all the major dimensions measured and furniture/storage box placement mapped out in advance. [link]

Matt, what did you use (software) to draw that up? I'm a frustrated sketcher and...
I won't use it so much for placement because I HAVE NO IDEA. I know what I want in what rooms/floors, but beyond that, I'm going to be doing a lot of shoving because..I HAVE NO IDEA.
