And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Absolutely NOT. All you were doing was talking about the fact of your weight loss; she made a judgement on your weight -- "let[ting] yourself go" -- which is NOT EVER appropriate for a healthcare professional to do. EVER.

100% in agreement here.

ION, it looks like the Space Treat that mentioned the backwards hanger trick was from April 2008, so I've got another month before I need to purge my closets.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Damn, Kathy -- that is appalling.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My doctor was very supportive of me at my recent check up--mostly because I've started running. She did ask me about my boobs--whether or not I'd considered reduction because of the running. I've thought about it, sure--even had a consultation with a plastic surgeon at one point. But not ready to go under the knife just yet. It's major surgery and I'm doing fine with a good sports bra. I don't have any pain but if it gets to that point, I may consider having them done.

Yup--that is so not cool.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The sad thing is that it didn't strike me as that appalling, just an annoying comment. I guess I'm used to them by now.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I guess I'm used to them by now.

You have the right to live your life free of judgement, sweetie. As long as you aren't hurting other people, you have as much right as anyone to walk around being fat, skinny, black, female, etc., and not be subject to other people's judgemental comments.

I totally understand how a person can get used to such comments -- I've lived my adult life as a fat person, and wow, have I gotten my share of them -- but you shouldn't have to. And it's not cool for people who are supposed to be caring for you to say things like that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cool picture of a man swimming with a lion

Scary. Pretty vulnerable position.

Horrible migraine last night. ER visit. Nurse who finally got the IV in right had me push my own saline to test it. Creepy. Mostly better now, I think.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, ita. Sorry.

Pretty vulnerable position.

Seriously. My cat is way smaller than I am, and can still hurt me by accident or on purpose...

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

And that's before the crocodiles even make an appearance.

brillig

It always takes me by surprise to realize how BIG lions are. And what cuddle bums they apparently are. I have a picture of a woman leaning her head against a lion's head, and they both seem quite content.

You don't see these kinds of pictures with tigers, so much. I wonder if it's because lions are pride critters and like lolling around on fellow creatures.
