oh and Kat - PBJtime is beyond explination. When I first saw it back in 99 or 00, I spent way too much energy trying to suss out why it was a banana singing it, but eventually I just had to accept that it was a philosophical puzzlement beyond my comprehension (perhaps bob bob could help out on that one). I think it is just pure joy, it has an almost perfect swing to it musically and then the combination of the beat makes it irresistable. mac has made many many people smile and even start talking to us by singing and dancing to it down the street.

underware has never factored into the enjoyment of PBJtime in our house. Perhaps just another example of it's wide ranging influence and power to reach people differently.

I think a scholarly paper should be written.

Congratulations, Sara! Continued house~ma that all continues to go smoothly.

You should sign up for all the neighborhood listservs, etc., because people are always giving away moving boxes there and on freecycle.

I'd offer to help you pack, etc., but depending on timing I may have to plead my belly. I could send my husband to schlep things!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

just ftr, I am almost always overwhelmed, BUT getting to help sara move will distract me from that.

Oh, I meant you aren't overwhelmed by the other person's packing issues, like the person packing (i.e., me) is.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Re echocardiograms - they're painless if somewhat gloppy.

If you need a trans-esophageal (sp?) echocardiogram, that's more serious, but you'd have been warned ahead of time if that's what they were doing.

And yay again for sarameg! Dark green towels - it'll help.

I know what you meant, just being cheeky.

So I've been thinking about clothes this morning. I decided in July to try and go a year without buying myself any clothes. I don't NEED any, that is for sure, it's just a matter of self control. Since, I have bought an Obama t-shirt and 2 pairs of tights, so pretty good, I think. Don't know what triggered it this morning, but I was taking stock of what I am wearing: Pants I bought in late 01/early 02, a sweater I knit (started in maybe 00, finished 08), a cardigan bought in 94, shoes bought in 00, underwear/bra and socks are all since 03. My purse is the newest thing, I think I got it in 07.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I love Jon Stewart's laugh. One of the great famous-people laughs.

Punishingly Intricate

I told mac last night that we will probably be coming down, he is excited to see miss sara and miss lisa.

aww YAY! What weekend were you thinking? (I'm in chicago next weekend so hoping it's not that one.) And furniture would be fine if you figure out a way to get it down here.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

You know, I probably can't name the years I acquired any of my clothes except for a handful, like the shoes I got in January, which are fresh in my mind. Which when you consider that I'm a slow & deliberate shopper who doesn't impulse-buy a whole lot, would seem contradictory.

Maybe I just don't time-bind well.

hip deep in pie

I am trying to cut down on the number of clothes I buy too, but sometimes I slide. I have just gained enough weight this winter that some of my pants are uncomfortable to wear, so what I really need to do is lose that winter weight and a whole area of wardrobe opens back up for me.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My Zappos delivery should happen this morning! Does anyone else listen for their doorbell when they hit the "submit" button on Zappos?
