Goodbye and Good Riddance 2008: "...and the horse you rode in on."

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2008? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

“Not dead yet!”

Ha! I went to college with Mr. March.

Mr. Hamm, I'm guessing? Since March was a veritable smorgasbord of Mad Men goodness. What cracks me up about Jon is when MM first premiered I would go on and on and, well, on, about this incredible actor on this incredible show and people (i.e. family) would give me the "Oh, there she goes again" look.

This year I've had to hear them go on and on and well, on, about this incredible actor on this incredible show and I just look at them and want to bop them over the head.

And in more World is a Really Small Place, my husband's cousin went to high school with Aaron Staton who plays Kenny.

Punishingly Intricate

And Matthew Weiner is my friend's cousin! 6 Degrees of Mad Men!

Okay, see, to me this is FAR more impressive. My letter to Santa had one wish and that was to be able to sit in on the skull sessions for that writing team. It would be like world's greatest Master Class.

Art Crawl!!!

I got an excellent random Christmas gift from a (non-buffista) online friend. How cool is that?

And just when co-worker and I were grousing about being the only two support staff in our office to brave the weather the last standing professional staffmember brought us homebaked goodies.

And the former office manager gave me a lovely hand crocheted scarf.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Two co-workers caught me by surprise before I left. One gave me a cute little bear in a mug. The other gave me wonderful sandalwood oil and some nummy chocolate treats. I, OTOH, felt like a total ass because I didn't even consider they might exchange something and didn't have anything for them. I may bring them some candy when I get back.

I'm being all superstitious and not wanting to say goodbye to 2008 before it is really gone. It may still come back to bite me.

Okay, actual pictures of my calendar and the goodies that accompanied. Why yes, I'm rather giddy, why do you ask?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

That? Is awesome. Well done, Barb's Seekrit Santee!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Is very, very awesome.

I think I stared at August's page (hey - the month of my birthday!) for a good minute and a half.

I like the kiss at the end. *g*

“Not dead yet!”

Seemed apropos. Especially given the subject matter...
