Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Edge gets a lot of hugs. I also have a friend who got one, years ago.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I NEED TO HUG THE EDGE!!!!!

Sorry. Better now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Goth style icon, the young Dave Vanian.

What a pretty and dapper sonofabitch.

(The Damned - "Love Song")

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'm tempted by this 7" boxset, although the price is a definite barrier: [link]

Note: MCR alert!

Because books.

I should maybe ask this in Gaming, but is there any chance the soundtrack MCR did for Shellshock II will be sold separately, as a soundtrack?

It's all covers of 60s and early 70s songs.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm distracting myself today with 80s videos on VH1 Classic. So far:

  • Olivia Newton-John, Physical: I'd forgotten the gay angle on this one. Love the headband, Liv!
  • Madonna, Lucky Star: Oh man, I sure loved Madonna in this phase. I had a couple of net tops like the black one she wears in this video. She was so darling!
  • Hall and Oates, One on One: I never was much with the H&O love (sorry, Plei!).
  • Pretenders, Middle of the Road: "I've got a kid, I'm 33 baby!" Hell yeah! Also, love the glitter hat, Hynde!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I wanted to be Chrissie Hynde when I was in high school. She was my fashion role model--big shirt with skinny tie and a fedora (I could never find one that fit my big head, damnit!!).

Punishingly Intricate

I wanted to be Chrissie Hynde when I was in high school.

I did then and I still do!

And more:

  • Devo, Whip It: Still weird, still want to dance (or rollerskate) to it.
  • John Cougar Mellencamp, Small Town: This is no fun. Doesn't feel dated like a lot of this 80s stuff (Pretenders are really in that camp as well). ChildMellencamp was adorable.
  • Evelyn Champagne King, Love Come Down: Damn, I had completely forgotten this one. Probably for the best. Ms. King is wearing a fetching pink culotte one-piece with puffy, bubble-skirty legs.
  • David Lee Roth, California Girls. Ugh. I never did get this.
