Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I NEED TO HUG THE EDGE!!!!!

Sorry. Better now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Goth style icon, the young Dave Vanian.

What a pretty and dapper sonofabitch.

(The Damned - "Love Song")

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'm tempted by this 7" boxset, although the price is a definite barrier: [link]

Note: MCR alert!

Oh, but you know that's going to appreciate in value like crazy.

Because books.

I should maybe ask this in Gaming, but is there any chance the soundtrack MCR did for Shellshock II will be sold separately, as a soundtrack?

It's all covers of 60s and early 70s songs.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm distracting myself today with 80s videos on VH1 Classic. So far:

  • Olivia Newton-John, Physical: I'd forgotten the gay angle on this one. Love the headband, Liv!
  • Madonna, Lucky Star: Oh man, I sure loved Madonna in this phase. I had a couple of net tops like the black one she wears in this video. She was so darling!
  • Hall and Oates, One on One: I never was much with the H&O love (sorry, Plei!).
  • Pretenders, Middle of the Road: "I've got a kid, I'm 33 baby!" Hell yeah! Also, love the glitter hat, Hynde!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I wanted to be Chrissie Hynde when I was in high school. She was my fashion role model--big shirt with skinny tie and a fedora (I could never find one that fit my big head, damnit!!).

Punishingly Intricate

I wanted to be Chrissie Hynde when I was in high school.

I did then and I still do!

And more:

  • Devo, Whip It: Still weird, still want to dance (or rollerskate) to it.
  • John Cougar Mellencamp, Small Town: This is no fun. Doesn't feel dated like a lot of this 80s stuff (Pretenders are really in that camp as well). ChildMellencamp was adorable.
  • Evelyn Champagne King, Love Come Down: Damn, I had completely forgotten this one. Probably for the best. Ms. King is wearing a fetching pink culotte one-piece with puffy, bubble-skirty legs.
  • David Lee Roth, California Girls. Ugh. I never did get this.

  • OMG Kenny Loggins, Footloose - I loved this song so much back in the day. Hey, I was like 12! Young, pissed off Bacon is adorable. Cut loose, wee Bacon (and the so obvious dancing double)!
  • Scandal, The Warrior - Flashback: The year is 1983 (or 84?) and young freshman (or sophomore?) Glamcookie really wants to be a cheerleader. She is practicing her routine to The Warrior in the backyard. Alas, cheerleading was not meant to be. Bang bang, motherfucker!
  • Berlin, The Metro - Hells yeah! I'm still feeling this song. The video, however, is pretty budget.
  • Eddie Murphy, Party all the Time - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I didn't realize we have Mr. "I'm Rick James, bitch!" to thank for this gem.
