Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So...Victor is a punkass and gave out a social media cover song challenge. The rules were, he had unilateral choice over which song, but other than that, you could do whatever you wanted with it. A bunch of his musician buddies jumped in, and so did I. Turns out it was a Phil Collins challenge. My song was "Abacab" and you can check out my cover here. Many thanks to the SO for the production. This was two days worth of work. I figured y'all might as well get the joy/pain too.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Liese, that was neat. The song is an old favorite of mine that I hadn't heard in a very long time. Must find my old vinyl.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Lies, I'm SO happy you did this silliness!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It was super, super fun, Victor! And if nothing else, I'm glad to have added all those amazing musicians to my social media life.

I still kinda can't quite believe we pulled it off.

Ha! I made deadline, man. I may have stayed up until three in the morning to do it, but I did it! I'd complain about it, except that it was totally on me for not starting any earlier, see above, re: musicians.

The results of the great Phil Collins Cover Project, featuring 35 covers of Phil's songs, great and small, including one by our very own Liese S.!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Apparently Mashrou Leila began their U.S. tour two weeks ago. This is a recommendation to see them, if you can. They are pretty amazing. [link]
