Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Pretty much every artist I have ever loved has been extensively derided as pretentious. And I am ok with that.
It is a busy day converting all the live show videos and audio of Prince that people are sharing. trying to grab as many as possible before they get taken down.
Speaking of Prince, I keep watching this over and over. If you've never seen it, it's pretty jaw dropping at the end:
I've never been a big fan, but his solo in that clip is frelling amazing. Sort of channeling his inner Hendrix.
He basically steals the song from some big-time vets and then does the guitarist equivalent of dropping the mic. I'm pretty sure that's Harrison's son next to Petty and he looks pretty pleased with everything, so I have no complaints on any showboating.
It's also one of the few times I remember Prince being tapped for JUST his guitar skills, and he did not disappoint. Plus a stylin' suit without being too Prince-ish about it.
I'm pretty sure that's Harrison's son next to Petty and he looks pretty pleased with everything, so I have no complaints on any showboating.
Yep, and he basically thought it was the most awesome thing in the history of awesome.
Apparently, Eric Clapton was once asked what it felt like to be the best guitarist in the world. "I don't know," he answered. "Ask Prince".
OMG, if that's not true it really should be.
Not true. Snopes.
