Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Oh, god, this is not the time to go on Tumblr.
Actually, my dash has been fine, because I'm pretty selective about the blogs I follow. No, it's the kids (and I'm being ageist and assuming they're kids) sending me anon messages about OMG PROBLEMATIC!
I've made my posts about it, and the messages seem to have settled down. Or the problematic dramamonger kids have all unfollowed me.
Anyway, I'm so glad I was able to go to the Bowie Is exhibit. I'll probably get around to listening to Blackstar in the next few days.
I wonder if these are the same people complaining about how Rocky Horror is problematic?
I got a new phone this weekend and hadn't downloaded music onto it yet, and now I've grabbed a bunch of my Bowie albums from the cloud. I'm listening until my face gets hot and I'm about to cry, and then I have to back off for a while.
I keep thinking I need to move on to an album that isn't Ziggy Stardust, and then my hindbrain rises up and goes 'NO, NO WE DON'T, PRESS REPEAT NOW'.
Wheaties: I mean, WOW. Also, he is so unimpressed by that argument.
Here's my Bowie connection - my stepbrother was in a dance company called La La La Human Steps that worked with Bowie in the late 1980s. He's the male dancer in this video [link] (definitely low billing compared to the woman, Louise Lecavelier! - he doesn't come in until the 3 minute mark.)
Um. . . wow. Cool Bowie connection.
I think that there is no reason at all to move on from Ziggy Stardust.
Jermaine Clement: I’m still glad he didn’t meet us, perhaps he would have liked to, but he would have blown our minds.
That's awesome. I miss those guys as a team.
