One of my friends was doing a lot of in-depth research on Shkreli, including message boards by traders of Biotech stocks and he's super shady.
There's a strong feeling that (a) he has rich backer who's been using him as a front; and (b) he was purposefully put out to take heat and manipulate the stock market with this stunt.
Apparently there's a huge amount of false reports and FDA decoying used to manipulate biotech stocks. Shkreli himself - with no official scientific credentials - was allowed to write reports for the FDA. Also, his hedge fund was not licensed which is apparently very shady.
Anyway, my impression is that there's a lot more subterranean shit going on with this story than an asshole blowing up on Twitter.
I have been listening to the Hamilton OCR stream on NPR at least once a day since it was posted. It is so good. It drops in iTunes at midnight.
LMM references so much in the songs: pop culture, other musicals.
What is killing me right now is when Hamilton yells at Washington to not call him son.
Lin-Manuel Miranda went to my High School. Mere coincidence?!
I went to college with him! We had friends in common, though he wouldn't remember me. Still, it's been super exciting to see him do so much great work and be recognized for it.
He's close with people I know from college. The Tony-winning husband of my college friend. It kinda blows me away. I lurves him.
We Buffistas are a well-connected lot.
Saw Hamilton for my birthday - it's pretty damn wonderful.

David, are you allowed to do another 33 ⅓ book? Have you considered pitching Bad Music for Bad People? Because duh,
Why are they not the most famous rock couple ever?
They are to me!
David, are you allowed to do another 33 ⅓ book?
No.
But I don't think they've done a Cramps album yet.
So, how popular was Off Broadway outside of the Chicago area? A friend of mine was surprised I'd heard a lot of their songs growing up in Wisconsin.
Their album
On
is full of great pop songs.
