There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I can easily create an audio mp3 from the video. Is that what you want, Juliebird?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Random question the Internet at large is not answering for me: is Depth Charge Ethel by Grinderman in 9/8? Thanks, hive mind.

No, it's 4/4 or maybe more accurately 16/16. It's confusing because the second half of the rhythmic riff is syncopated.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Very disquieting but not surprising for that era and milieu. I was reading McKenzie Phillips memoir and the amount of drugs and sex that kids and young teens were exposed to in that world was completely insane. Lori Maddox was about 15, maybe 14, when Jimmy Page first met her and whisked her off. And it's not like anybody was shy about writing songs about 16 year old girls back then either.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Thanks for linking to that, Tom.
