"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Julie,

why don't you start off with a Pandora channel. You can customize (generally) to add or subtract as you like.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Pandora stumps me with the limited amount of skips, and now it's asking me to register, which makes me tired to think about, especially with my experience with it in the past.

I wracked my brain to to think of what I've enjoyed in the past. Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean's take on Guantanamera, Lupe Fiasco's Kick Push, Mri Ben-Ari's duet's . . . Currently Raphael Saadiq is the closest I get, and he's quite retro, but she liked his voice. Generational gap music. No Boyz 2 Men, please.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Janelle Monae? She's got a song out with Erykah Badu. [link]

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

huh, I have 33 potential songs. Got some RJD2, Ramsey Lewis, Tricky, R.L. Burnside, The Herbalizer, Sublime, Jay Z (Hard Knock Life, baby!), Waldeck, Handsome Boys Modeling School, Anthony Hamilton (that way lies madness and a total old school mix).

I want to avoid anything that she might actually be currently listening to, which Janelle seems to be (purchased the song for personal reasons, though, what a great voice).

Is it bad when listening to "Everyone's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" makes me cry? I always feel so full of despair and hope whenever I listen. Manipulative fucking shit.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm not sure if anyone else here will be interested, but we just published (on another board) a community GoogleDoc and Dropbox of all boots, demos and special shows that are legit to trade of The Afghan Whigs, The Twilight Singers, The Gutter Twins, etc. (that's why it's called "All Boots Dulli"), from 1987 till now. Most of the things can be downloaded (again, all legit). Here is the link: [link]

I'm kindda proud of this. Seven years ago these bands were all "no, you're not gonna get an official message board. People might talk shit about us there", and now they let us do and have this.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Shir -- I'm not a huge Dulli fan but I know people who are. Is it OK to spread that link around?

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Absolutely. That's what I meant when I said it's legit, and that's why it took us over 10 months to create this spreadsheet (persuasion).

(Oh, and when I say us, I don't just mean the community of Dulli worshipers. I'm one of the the folks who can edit that spreadsheet and did some of the work on it).
