The one with Elton John still freaks me out. It's ... Elton John! And Patrick Stump!
I know! I hope there are videos of the studio sessions that will be released, because I want to see Patrick's face when he was working with Sir Elton.
I get irrationally protective when I think about C. Love near the FOB boys. Wentz, no! You are not a role model for emotional stability, but that doesn't mean you should hang out with the
truly
damaged. Back away.
I haven't heard the FOB song, but I still have an irrational love of Courtney. Yes, she's nutty and damaged and out there, but she was such a fucking fierce and entertaining person back in the day. Hole was so great, and she was one of the best female rock vocalists.
I am massively conflicted about Courtney. I love the Live Through This album, and she was an amazing vocalist. But I know too much about her damage and how she inflicts it on the people around her.
For the record, I feel the same damn way about Layne Staley from Alice In Chains. Objectively, the first few AIC albums are really good. Emotionally? No. Can't separate the music from the person.
Scott Miller, genius powerpop songwriter/musician behind Game Theory and Loud Family has put all of his albums up for free on Dropbox to promote his new book.
Get them here.
Crap. The dropbox account has been temporarily suspended due to the large number of downloads.

Well, I got 'em all if you need any.
Thanks. I think I'll try later--maybe in a few days. If it's still disabled I'll take you up on that.
Now the Loud Family website is reporting that Scott Miller passed away?! [link]
I wish it weren't true, but as much as it pains me to write these words, Scott passed away on April 15, 2013. He was a wonderful, loyal friend as well as a brilliant musician, and I will miss him for the rest of my life.
