Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Because books.

I just want to stand next to her and, like, touch the hem of her cloak.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Now on the radio -- Jack Webb's version of "Try a Little Tenderness." It's better than it has any right to be. Possibly because Webb (1) doesn't try to sing and (b) adopts a conversational tone that has nothing in common with what many people do when "reciting poetry."

Ann, that's a ferret.

Now up -- the Trashmen's follow-up to "Surfin' Bird," "Bird Dance Beat." Proof that you can make lightning strike once, but not twice.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Journey's "Faithfully" came on the radio last night when we were driving back from dinner. I knew every word, and when the guitar and drums come on.

I can't believe I know the song that well.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart
