So I am watching ST:TSG and there is an episode with a Dr. Mannheim. So every time they say the character's name, I shouted out "Steamroller." Because that's how I roll.
Anyway, Beau says to me: "why do you keep shouting out steamroller?"
He had NEVER heard of Mannheim Steamroller. So I had to stop the episode and play some youtube clips. He recognized "Deck the Halls." Didn't know who that was.
Manheim Steamroller is sort of 70s. Maybe that's why?
Old clip (late 60s maybe? early 70s?) of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Johnny Carson singing.
So in 1926, a song was published titled "Take Your Finger Out of Your Mouth (I Want a Kiss from You)"
From the comic on the cover, it sorta' looks like she's trying to make herself vomit.

I bet I know where tommyrot is going to be on July 6: [link]
Yeah, David Byrne emailed me about that a few hours ago.
Speaking of which--any Chicagoistas want to see David Byrne and St. Vincent at Ravinia on July 6th? Ravinia is an outdoor venue that's right next to a Metra stop so it's easy to get to.
BOWIE! SWINTON!
My Tumblr stream has pretty much died of fannish glee over this, and are all posting from the Great Beyond.
That was gorgeous. Tilda Swinton just can't actually be real.
She's not. SWINTON is an alien goddess who has decided to walk amongst us mere mortals.
I just want to stand next to her and, like, touch the hem of her cloak.
