Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In the Modern Lovers together with David Robinson who would go on to be the drummer for The Cars.

Ooh--now I remember!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Poor Ernie Brooks, the forgotten Modern Lover.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Poor Ernie Brooks, the forgotten Modern Lover.

He went on to play with the Real Kids!

He's not on any of the Real Kids records I have. Are you confusing him with John Felice, who fronted the Real Kids (and was a Modern Lover for a time), or was Ernie only briefly a member?

I know John Felice was in both. I could be mistaken but I thought Ernie played with Real Kids at one point. Maybe only live?

I found this ridiculous grid - [link] - and Ernie's not listed, but you may still be right.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I just finished reading Big Day Coming: Yo La Tengo and the Rise of Indie Rock. I really enjoyed it, especially when he describes what the scene was like in the late 70s and early 80s, when Ira was writing for New York Rocker, and he started hanging out at Maxwell’s.

Speaking of eBooks, anyone read Talking Heads' Fear of Music (33 1/3)?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm about halfway through it and loving it. Should have finished it a while ago, but I got sidetracked by something else.

I will add that Fear of Music is my favorite T Heads album, though it's not necessarily their best (More Songs... or Remain in Light, I think).
