There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I don't know why no one of you told me about Salena Jones & The Keith Mansfield Orchestra before, but y'all on the list for this.
RIP, Marvin Hamlisch.
The story is, nothing sounds quite like the songs that were popular when you were 12. His version of "The Entertainer" was big early in the summer I turned 12.
Hey P-C, I really like that GroupLove album you recommended on FB. Thanks!
Saw the Dead Can Dance concert last night, at an outdoor venue. Which means that as dusk fell, I was watching Dead Can Dance perform live while bats swooped and fluttered in the trees; a perfect gothy moment.
For one of the encores, Brendan Perry sang "Song to the Siren". You know, the song written by Tim Buckley that This Mortal Coil covered, that every goth of a certain age gets swoony and wildly-emotional over? Pete said watching me and the StuntHusband simultaneously freak out when the song started was a little eerie.
le n, that was pretty cool. Thanks for linking.
You know, I'm a little worried that Bowie hasn't done anything since he had heart problems seven years ago.
He was pretty markedly missing from the closing ceremonies.
