Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Ran into a showtune while working out, just caught the title and the song end.
Title "Just an Other Woman" ("an other" NOT "another"
Apparently the song was a sprightly piece where a man was telling a woman all the virtues of being an "other woman".
And the part I caught was
Woman's voice "I wish that I could meet her"
Man's voice "I hoped that you could BE her"
Woman's voice (ruefully) "Just an other woman - like me".
The cheerful cynicism of that ending makes me want to track down the rest of the song, and what's more find out what show it is from . Google gives me no joy, so I'm hoping some kind Buffista might recognize the tune, or failing that be able to suggest resources for tracking down obscure showtune.
So, Doc Watson fell and then had surgery on a blockage of his colon? He's in critical condition but is responsive and recovering.

Oh no! Stay healthy, Doc! He is amazing, and Merlefest is a super good time.

That is very cool indeed.
RIP, Doc. My parents said he seemed out of it and didn't play much when they saw him last month at Merlefest. And his wife had a stroke and is in a nursing home.
Doc Watson and Pete Cosey within 24 hours of each other. Bad week for guitar geniuses.
How come I haven't heard of Regina Spektor until I heard her interviewed on public radio?
Anyway, What We Saw From the Cheap Seats is awesome! Any recs for other albums of hers?
