Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fooling around with 8-Track I put up the Horror of Disco Halloween mix.

Not sure I like this platform since the second time you play this mix they have to scramble the order. Dude! I spend a huge amount of time working out the sequencing!

Anyway, if you need some Halloween Disco, you can start there.

I'll see about putting up some of my other Halloween mixes.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

There are no good biography books on The Damned, are there? I'm stuck with websites to brush up on my info?

I don't think so.

But their early formation-of-punk history is covered in Jon Savage's book England's Dreaming.

The Damned's first tour of America was also very important in the history of American punk, as it basically paved the way for hardcore. They just played sooooo much faster than anybody else that they blew people away.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We went and saw these guys [link] perform the Beatles' White Album in its entirety last night, and it was INCREDIBLE. The amount of musicianship on display was mind-blowing.

I will say that DH and I seem to have reached the age where we have the energy to jump and dance at a concert all night and have fantastic sex, but not both in the same night. DH and I were asleep the second our heads hit the pillows.

Vivino is SUCH an amazing guitarist. He had the crowd on its feet several times with his solos.

Oh, and Gary Oldman of all people introduced them and was enthusiastic and charming, and revealed he'd been a fan for 10 years. He asked for a big welcome for them, and then said, "You in the cheap seats can applaud--" and then paused as you could feel the delighted wave of Beatles geek love wash over him as he waved to the boxes and told them they could "rattle their jewelry."
