You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, if one of you guys could post "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" that would be great.

Also, someone covered that song for a movie soundtrack in the early/mid '90s, but I can't remember the movie or the band that did the cover. Any ideas?

eta: Also, Camper Van Beethoven covered this, which I have. That version is pretty good.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Is this it, tommyrot? [link]

edit: Damn, that looks like a pretty sweet soundtrack. I miss the 90s.

Yeah, that's it. A roommate had that album at one point. I think I need a copy of that.

Also, that album's version of X's "Unheard Music" ("Performed by Elastica with Stephen Malkmus") is awesome.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's posted now. I threw in "Celluloid Heroes" because that album, Everybody's in Show Biz, is less essential, but everybody needs that song.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You're welcome. And now I'm listening to a lot of Kinks. Currently: "Ape Man."

I think I need to track down some of their later hard rock songs like "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" and "Destroyer."

I love "Destroyer", as the AOR station I listened to in the early '80s played it a lot.

I like how they ripped off their own riff in "All Day and All of the Night" for "Destroyer." And it also mentions "a girl called Lola."

Give me a mo and I'll upload those two tracks. (My only version of "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" is the live one from One For the Road. Do you want that version?)

Also just ran across this video: Cheap Trick Mariachi Mash Up - "Surrender" (Long Version)

eta: This version is pretty awesome, and the video is fun.

OK, "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" is posted. I'm sorry, but my version of "Destroyer" is an older iTunes download that has DRM, so you can't use that one. When I get home I'll see if I can find a blank CD to burn it to and then rip to .mp3. (I've got a ton of blank CDs... somewhere.)
