It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Huh, I didn't realize that was Neil Innes as the troubadour in Holy Grail ("Brave Sir Robin ran away...").

He also had a similar role in Gilliam's Jabberwocky.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Incidentally, the Neil Innes blog has a huge store of free mp3s from his long career with both the Bonzos and a composer for various BBC kid's shows.

Neil Innes music.

(Neil doesn't run the blog but he's been in touch with them and obviously knows they've posted this music. He's taken the approach of saying, "Here they are for free, or if you want to pay for them and treat me to tea, then you can get them over.")

So, I'm poking through my Kinks catalog and guess what song is awesome and I've never really listened to it before? "Brainwashed" on Arthur.

In fact, this whole album is pretty great.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I wish The Goodies was viewable on US tv again--I remember laughing so hard I'd be crying while watching that show.

I remember one about South Africa that had me doing that. When all the black people left to get away from the opression, they started abusing the short people and Bill Oddie was the major victim in the group. If I remember correctly he started a revolt involving babies.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

They have one episide with a David Attenborough cameo. (Well, not the real David Attenborough, though they did get the real Patrick Moore.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Is there any way to fix a warped LP?

Traditionally, the attempt is made by placing it between two sheets of glass, weighting it down with heavy books and then leaving it out in the sun on a hot day.

It's worth a shot.
