Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Ooh, love Kristin Hersh in concert. Will want a full report if you manage to get tickets.
I did! It's very exciting. I shall indeed report back.
News for the other MCR fans: (No, not the news of Gerard bleaching his hair a truly awful shade of blond.) At the Dark Horse Comics panel at SDCC, Gerard said he wasn't going to be releasing any new comics this year because the band had just completed their new album.
Completed! Now to cross our fingers for it being released soon, and touring to start!

Kristin Hersh gig was *incredible*. Tiny bar - can't even have been a hundred of us packed in there. I was sat right near the front, which was awesome. She did a great mix of songs from 'Crooked' and older stuff - 'The Cuckoo', 'Gazebo Tree', a few off 'Sunny Border Blue', two Throwing Muses songs (one brand new one - sounding good!) and ending with 'Your Dirty Answer'. (I wanted 'Your Ghost', but I got that at last week's gig, so you can't have everything.) She's just amazing live! Especially in such a small venue. Could have been singing in my living room. Wonderful.
She's been cat-sitting in Windsor and kept talking about getting cornflakes for the Queen. And also about her G string. She signed copies of her book afterwards and was so adorable, talking to people for ages. What a lovely person. Her husband-manager is also lovely - he had made sure there was help available for me from venue staff, as I'd mentioned in an e-mail that I needed wheelchair access. Very sweet.
And now I am extremely hung over.

FAQWife spotted her at the Porter Square Books cafe recently. She was wearing a HUGE rock.
I was watching the PBS Paul McCartney at the White House concert last night. Dave Grohl just nailed "Band on the Run," and you could tell Sir Paul was geeking out over being able to sing "Michelle" to Michelle Obama. Also, he got in a none-too-subtle dig at W when he said "I am so honored to receive this award, especially from this president."
Did you see at the very end Barak try and dance with Malia? she was all DAAAAAD
