Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

As January is right around the corner and I'm running out of Christmas playlists, it's time for a new theme. For those of you tired of my monthly requests, this one's for you.

“A Royal Pain in the A**”:

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Erasure
"From a Jack to a King" by Elvis Presley
"Karpet King" by Fountains of Wayne
"King & Queen of America" by Eurythmics
"King for a Day" by Thompson Twins
"King Midas in Reverse" by The Hollies
"King of All the World" by Old 97s
"King of Pain" by The Police
"King of the Road" by The Proclaimers
"King of the Surf" by The Trashmen
"King of Thieves" by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
"Zombie King" by Ben Bloch
"The Acid Queen" by The Who
"Ballad of a Teenage Queen" by Johnny Cash
"Dancing Queen" by ABBA
"Death Valley Queen" by Flogging Molly
"Killer Queen" by Queen
"The Queen and the Soldier" by Suzanne Vega
"The Queen is Dead" by The Smiths
"Queen Jane Approximately" by Bob Dylan
"Queen Mab" by Donovan
"Queen of Apology" by The Sounds
"Queen of the Moonlight World" by Andy Roberts
"Queen of the Silver Dollar" by Emmylou Harris
"Queen of the Slipstream" by Van Morrison
"Queen of the Winter Night" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
"Tupperware Queen" by The Beautiful South
"Someday My Prince Will Come" by Tierney Sutton
"Prince of the Punks" by The Kinks
"The Prince of Parties" by Flight of the Conchords
"Two Princes" by Spin Doctors
"Princesse" by Médhie et Yoyo
"Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder
"Duke of Earl" by Gene Chandler
"The Duke of Dutchess County" by Mary Ellen Bernard
"The Grand Duchess of San Francisco" by American Music Club
"Duchess" by Neko Case & Her Boyfriends

I was sort of surprised how little there seems to be for prince or princess, so I would particularly welcome suggestions with those. I must say, with most royal titles being famous singer or group names, it wasn't easy to find new things.

Also, if anyone has "King Tut" and can post it to brawk, I would love to add it.

Thanks!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, if anyone has "King Tut" and can post it to brawk, I would love to add it.

I do!

I'll post it when I get home. Plus I can search my iTunes library for more royalty.

eta: Oh wait - I think I bought "King Tut" from iTunes. So I'd have to burn it to CD and then rip it. So if anyone else has it already in mp3, speak up....

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

"King Only", Twilight Singers (without relation to my Greg Dulli fixation, it's such a thing of beauty)
"Duchess", Scott Walker/Gutter Twins
"Jewish Princess", Frank Zappa
"The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. One", "The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. Two", Neutral Milk Hotel
"The Duke", Blind Melon

Will brawk if needed.

I don't think I should put something called Jewish Princess on a work playlist, but I'd love any of the others. Thanks Shir!

No problem, megan - I'm going to bed now, but will brawk them all (but Zappa) tomorrow morning.

No rush, this doesn't go up until January.

And thanks to Tommyrot as well.

One great thing about doing these playlists is that it gets me to check out CDs from the library that I would never hear otherwise.

Case in point: The Country Side of Elvis = Awesome.
