Oh, nd I forgot the Harry Connick, Jr!
Not albums, but my favorite songs as a retail clerk-- the ones that made me happy no matter how many times I heard them were Christmas in Kilarny, Mele Kalikimaka (the Hawaiian Christmas SOng) and The Waitresses' Christmas Wrapping. Everything else seemed to blur into one big mass of annoying music that played from before Thanksgiving until February.
When are you gonna come visit??
Well, first they have to clear the rocks off I-40... but really I don't know. I've got LA in Jan, NoLa in March, maybe the f2f, and I'd really like to go visit my brother in Seattle. Meeting halfway in Asheville is easier but I would love to get back to Nashville sometime. As for Asheville I might even be able to score us a cheap awesome house to stay in.
Ah. Do They Know It's Christmas, in the office, not a great mix for me.

Ooh! I would also be up for meeting in Asheville -- we haven't been there yet. But I would love to have you come visit us here in Nashville too.
And to bring this post back on topic, I'm loving all the holiday music suggestions! Another one that must be mentioned is Vince Guaraldi's
A Charlie Brown Christmas,
of course. There's a bar in East Nashville (The Family Wash) that hosts several performances of
A Charlie Brown Christmas
every year by local group The Ornaments. We went to see them last week and it was SO much fun -- great music, great food, little kids dancing with their parents, an impromptu caroling session. I love that place.
I just listened to John Denver and the Muppets' "A Christmas Together." Hands down my favorite holiday album. Besides the obvious nostagia factor, there are some really lovely songs on there that one doesn't really hear elsewhere.
Yes! It's my favorite holiday album, too.
I borrowed heavily from Wintergrace for a nice/religious mix I made for my parents this year -- thanks, David!
I also love the Roches.
We are partial to Leon Redbone's "Island Christmas."
I'll be playing four hours of Xmas music on the radio this Friday, 8am to Noon!
You, or will Santa Claus be sitting in for you?
I'm in negotiations with Claus right now. Bastard is holding out for more money (& frankincense & myrrh).
