Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh. Maybe I should do that. I just let my iTunes segue into the Galaxie 500 Peel Sessions - their cover of The Young Marble Giants' "Final Day" is awesome (way better than the original) but just made me more sad....

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Now I'm not sure why it sounds sad.

Maybe it's in Dminor?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Here you go, tommy. Guaranteed amusement.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Jon's right. It's the D minor. Plus thick layers of echo.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Tom Waits is sixty today.

I should've given you a footnote credit.

And thanks, Sue.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Great tribute/rant there, Hec.

Though I'd argue that while he's remained an ornery/contrarian interviewee, things like the liner notes to The Black Rider do indicate he's embraced a certain kind of respectability at least partway.
