My iTunes has started to pick up on my Glee fixation since it played in succession,
The Way We Used to Be- Eric Carmen (which could TOTALLY be a Glee song)
Taking Chances- Celine Dion (yes I have it, shut up)
Somebody to Love- Queen
Somethin' Stupid- Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman (which I would totally love to hear Mr. Schue & Emma sing)
Setting Beetlejuice the iPhone on shuffle:
Something Fast - Sisters of Mercy
Evil Night Together - Jill Tracy
Nighttrain - Guns 'n Roses
Looks That Kill - Motley Crue
I Never Told You What I Do For A Living - My Chemical Romance
House Of Wolves - My Chemical Romance
Being From Jersey Means Never Having To Say You're Sorry - Cobra Starship
Feel Good, Inc. - Gorillaz
Braindead - Zombina & The Skeletones
Miss Lucy Had Some Leeches - Emilie Autumn
My iTunes thinks I'm a gothy gay man with a thing for old movies?
Well now I do too.
That's not a bad set list, Jilli. I'd go to your club.
Miami Vice theme - Jan Hammer
House of Wolves - My Chemical Romance
Stargate SG-1 theme - David Arnold
John Henry - Woody Guthrie
Major Tom - Shiny Toy Guns
Rodeo - Garth Brooks
Indiana Jones theme - John Williams
Monday, Monday - The Mamas & The Papas
What You Feel - OMWF soundtrack
January Second - Sean Watkins
Kelli Ali - Groupie
Carl Vega - Summer Lady
The Robert Cray Band - Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Leo Sayer - Thunder In My Heart
Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
My iPhone was chillaxing comfortably, grooving to some mellow stylings, it was starting to worry me. Where are my dork anthems? But then it pulled out the Sayer, with one of the most ridiculously melodramatic love songs ever penned. Well played, iPhone. Well played.
Grrr. I can't seems to find anywhere my Etta James' "At Last", and I want it to be on my MP3 player for tomorrow.
Any chance any of you guys have it and can send it to the rawk?
(I'm pretty sure now this computer is eating my music files.)
Ok finally from the ipod:
I got stripes - johnny cash
Summertime - dj jj & fp
Burn for you - inxs
I dreamed a dream - patti lupone (seriously?!)
Georgia on a fast train - billie joe shaver
This might be more appropriate for the Gaming thread but ...
So Pete is playing Brutal Legend. (Just pretend I coded the umlaut over the "u" in "Brutal", okay?) One of the songs that came up on the soundtrack was "Battle Angel" by Sanctuary.
"Waitaminute, that can't be the Sanctuary I'm think of, can it?"
I ask. So off I go to wikipedia, and lo and behold! It IS the version of Sanctuary I was thinking of! They were a late 80s/early 90s Seattle metal band that I knew. They were nice guys, and did a very nifty cover of White Rabbit.
(Before Plei asks, no, I didn't date any of them. I just kept ending up at the same parties and shows with them in '89 - '91.)
Okay everybody hit the randomizer or shuffle on your music player and gimme your top five.
- Mardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys
- The Dark of the Matinee - Franz Ferdinand
- Graffiti - Maximo Park
- Any Day Now - Missy Higgins
- All That We Let In - Indigo Girls
It's classics of the early-ish 2000s today, apparently. Nice soundtrack to today's dissertation session.
'Mardy Bum' is my favourite song on that Arctic Monkeys CD. I didn't get any other of their CDs after that one. I couldn't see where else they could go with their style. I should perhaps listen on Spotify to see where they did go.
