Going to the Largo to see Neil Finn tonight! It is an intimate music-lovers' type of place--200 seats, and NO talking or electronic devices allowed. They usually get lots of guests, so I will let you know who shows up.
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Can you record a video of the show while talking on your cellphone and emailing from your laptop?
They actually had a cellphone nazi there! If he saw the light from a phone, he shone a flashlight in the miscreant's face and said "Turn it off for the duration of the show, dude." It was AWESOME.
The show itself was wonderful--Neil, Jon Brion and Neil's son, Elroy, playing an ever-changing selection of instruments. Neil said it was a night of self indulgence for him and he was going to play a lot of lesser-known songs, many of which he said were "dead moody." He was in amazing voice and the song selection was varied and gorgeous. We were in the 7th row, which was of course great!
