Yeah, Google always works fine for me with lyrics.
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Yeah, I think I'll stick to google. I also tried "she's got a black belt in karate" and it was the 5th match on LyricRat, but the first on google. (google also found the correct Animal Collective song as its first match for "i want to walk around with you".)
The lyric from the Flaming Lips song is "She's a black belt in karate", no "got".
LyricRat couldn't identify a single Siouxsie or old Cure song I tried. I mean, "Face to Face" starts:
Face to face My lovely foe
I tried "my lovely foe" and got 5 hip-hop songs with "foe" in the title. Bah.
The lyric from the Flaming Lips song is "She's a black belt in karate", no "got".
Oopsie!
I tried "my lovely foe" and got 5 hip-hop songs with "foe" in the title. Bah.
Yeah, Lyric Rat seems to weigh "popularity" higher than "close match."
Bastards!
Thanks for all the "awesomes!" and "yay!"ses. I'm still holding out hope that that ad agency will call again (not really).
I'm being extra-cautious about stuff for a while.
But this may be of some amusement/interest to Star Wars fans.
(double-checks his HTML - okay)
What artist should I listen to? (Has to be something on my iPod.)
Mojo Nixon.
