"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Nouvelle Vague is rather blissful. I suspect that's why my two CDs have gone missing (glares ominously northward at a non-Buffista friend).

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

There will be Duran Duran.

in beautiful weather (Jilli, stop staring at me)

Beautiful weather? Good God, you've turned into the scary twin again, haven't you? This wasn't beautiful weather, it was bright and hideously warm.

... tho' I can see where driving around listening to that version of "Marian" would be quite fun.

NO. *shudder* I didn't morph into Gene. No white, I don't OWN contacts, I didn't shave, I didn't smile.

I just imagined that I was sitting on a VERY FAST LAWN CHAIR with a stereo playing VERY LOUDLY INDEED as I zoomed all over the Eastside, then back across the lake.

THAT made it fun. If it had been stormy, there would have been no lawnchair-imagining, and that would have diminished the effect.

(no Gene, no)

It's very amusing to be listening to a (new to me) Hocico song ("Silent Wrath") and realize the sample at the end is Vader's breathing.

Effective.

(shudder)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We just started watching Tropic Thunder on DVD. Were the fake trailers played in the theaters? Because those might end up being my favorite part of the movie.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Were the fake trailers played in the theaters?

Yes.

::pokes thread:: Can someone please send me the pass?

I was vaguely uncomfortable throughout that movie. I suspect it wasn't my brand o'humour.
