Hi Music Thread! I haven't been around here in awhile.
David, I downloaded all the music from all the episodes of True Blood after I mainlined the series...last year? earlier this year? Whenever. That Jace Everett album is getting good play on ye olde ipod too. Way to pick a music director, show. Such a great mix of oldies and new songs.

True dat. I've always loved Slim Harpo's "Strange Love" and wondered when somebody would put it to good use.
I might have to go track that Jace Everett album down. I do like some swampy twang.
I can't get that Jace Everett song out of my head. Whenever I hear it it sticks around for a couple days.
I have it on the comp if you want me to throw it up on gmail. "Real Bad Things" or whatever is one of the stronger songs on there, but it's pretty good.
Bah! What is that '70s hit song about a guy who takes a nap in the tall grass on a hot summer day and dreams he's the star of a motion picture?....

"Spill The Wine", was it? Was that Eric Burdon singing it?
Yes! Thanks. (Am downloading from iTunes now.)
The term "Jazz" may have originated in San Francisco. It was used by baseball players before it was applied to New Orleans music: [link]
Sky Saxon passed away this morning. The website doesn't reflect it yet, but I have it on pretty good authority: [link]
I saw Sky Saxon play! Backed by Redd Kross. He was old and terrible, but the McDonald boys looked totally blissed out to be rocking behind him.
