Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Saw the Bouncing Souls twice this weekend. Oh they're beautiful, they're so so beautiful.

Saturday was at Asbury Lanes and if you look at my shins you can see precisely how high the barricade-less stage was. Hardcore.

Sunday was a bigger venue. It was heavenly. I really cannot overstate how much everyone should see them at least once.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My iPod is bound and determined to have my accent be strong at work it seems..

Yesterday the last two songs as I got to the office: Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire and then Old 97s - Doreen.

Today the last three: Be Good Tanyas - Littlest Birds, Shelby Lynne - Seeker, Dixie Chicks - Wide Open Spaces.

I swear, if it spits out Loretta lynn for me tomorrow the people in the office are going to be scared.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Cat Power.

Where to start?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You Are Free is amazing. What Would the Community Think is very good as well. I first got into Cat Power via The Covers Record, which is what its title says. Good (and unconventional) covers - standouts for me include "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and the Velvet Underground song "I Found a Reason."

Frankly, her sound has changed so much over the years that it's difficult to say. What Would the Community Think sounds like a completely different artist from The Greatest. I prefer the former, but the latter sold a lot more records. I'd start with those two and go outward from there, depending on which of those you like more.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I only have Moon Pix, You Are Free, and The Greatest, and they all have their strengths.
