Another irrational thing that jerks me out of fic: when they dress the boys in sweats. I know this is because I have a hate-on for sweats that makes no sense, given that I'm an endorphin junkie. I just think of sweats as having elasticated ankles, and...no. I hate them.
But I can't remember if we've ever seen the guys in sweats. I don't recall it. Have we?
Not that I can ever recall. And I think Dean has only been in a hoodie once, in Faith. Even in ... whichever ep it is where Lucifer appears to Sam, he's wearing track pants to bed, not sweats.
Dean was wearing a SWEATER in a fic the other day. Bitch, please.
Winchesters do not wear sweats.
It seems like a lot of college age lifestyle choices make it in SPN fic. I wonder if that's reflective of who has time to write it?
God, I feel vindicated. I couldn't tell if canon supported my aversion, but I honestly thought I'd remember gathered ankles.
Track pants? Totally cool with those.
Also SOCKS. So happy to see sockfeet.
Again with the not having enough time to provide a commentary but here are my votes:
S2, R3, B1
Proud - Oh, John!
Help a little - Oh, Sam!
Supposed to do - Oh, Dean!
Bossy and short - Oh, snap!
Hey, Andy's in an Applebee's commercial!
I'm also canonically distracted by underwear. There seems to be little consensus on what Castiel wears, but silk boxers? Really? Little Jimmy Novak?
What kind of underwear did Dean sprinkle the itching powder into? Are they boxer-briefs kind of boys? That's the only underwear of Dean's I can recall clearly, because of that glorious pan(dering) shot.
I totally see Dean as a boxer briefs boy, and not only because I actually saw him *in* them.
I could see Sam in anything (heh) -- boxers, tighty whities, boxer briefs.
Jimmy Novak definitely wore plain white cotton boxer. Silk, no.
