I know it's mostly totally Kripke's fault, but now I'm reading some fic that involves Chuck that's verging on RPF. Yeah, he inserted himself first, but if a fic suddenly gets way OOC on Chuck, it feels like the author is talking about Kripke and not the character and it makes me feel awkward.
Show, fandom, why you gotta do me so?
I wouldn't even begin to know what Kripke's like, other than a little bit little-boy earnest maybe.
There's no show tonight, and that makes me sad.
I just read a fic where Chuck took a stand against fanfic, and all I can think is huh? Really? Are we talking the character, or are we talking meta? Because in-canon, you're going to have to work for that realisation.
It just felt like someone was trying to comment more than tell a story, and I felt defensive on the part of a guy who doesn't need my protection.
I have a sneaking suspicion we might have only 10 votes so far and a tie for one of the votes, but I won't have a chance to look at the numbers until I get to work.
Lurkers! Activate!
Do we get two more brackets of round 1?
Nope. We're onto round 2, so only half the contestants, half the number of brackets. From here on in, just one bracket, with 8 choices, then 4, then 2, then one glorious winner.
C'mon, someone, or we're going to need a tiebreaking mechanism.
I live to serve (particularly ita commands)
S1,R2,B1
cakehole, yoga, march into hell, Santa Claus
S1,R2, B2
killer truck, innocence, Dad, brave
Thanks, lcat!
Now, if there are any more votes in the next half hour, it better be an even number of voters.
Yay lcat! I was hoping you'd show, and for the all important tie-breaker vote.
