With respect to the D/C shippers, I want to see the Sam stuff resolved, before I worry about Castiel or Bobby. I like Misha and Cas as much as the next person, but in character, Bobby's got his legs back, literally and figuratively, and Castiel has a new mission in heaven.
It's Winchesters I'm focused on, and want sorted out first, including Adam, please. Then the rest of TFW.
It's Winchesters I'm focused on, and want sorted out first
This. But I don't know how I want it sorted. It's easier to talk about the periphery where I have less invested. I have no idea how that should be resolved and I'm willing to let show lead me some where unexpected.
My punch list would be small moments involving other characters and I won't be devastated if they don't happen.
I know my word is tainted, because I'm one of those cursed shippers, but I think there's story to having Sam stuff drawn out, and much less about Cas. So having him just not around for a few eps and then popping back to say hi is teasing. Whereas I know we'll see Sam right away, and even if they're not together, we'll get story.
Oh, it will hurt if they're not together, but stuff will be happening onscreen.
Adam? I don't care about so much. An offhand word will do just fine, since I don't need to see him again.
I have no idea how to work Castiel the superpowered angel into next season. Doesn't mean I don't want to see him again. I will be keeping an eye out for the spoiler of his appearance, though not the mechanics. I just feel the disappearance was way abrupt, and Dean's reaction pretty on the nose. But Cas does have only two intermittent years with Dean and millenia as an angel--it's not surprising. It's just frustrating.
Oh, hey, it's list-making time, isn't it?
Man, I can't even think of a list of lists I'd like to make. Other than the afore-mentioned pain-filled best
5
of each season.
I wonder where my spreadsheet is. I haven't looked at it in forever.
I am craving a list. I'm formulating some items for my personal punch list.
Offhand my early S6 wishlist involves:
- Dean properly fucked up by no Sam
- Dean/Lisa not working like clockwork
- Ben not being hurt in any way by either of the above
- SAMMY! (I'm not sure how I want this to work out, other than him needing a big old hug) (Okay, him not being Lucifer. But I really don't think he is, so no use wasting a wish--he just shouldn't be evil)
- Castiel saying something else to Dean
Dean properly fucked
The start of this item threw me off.
one of those cursed shippers
Not in any way cursed. Just a different POV. I don't hate because I don't share.
In addition to ita's list,
1. No fridging of Lisa and/or Ben
2. Sam being, or becoming, fully human. Not just not-evil, but all the go-juice drained and gone. Learning, maybe, to be human again.
3. More interaction and engagement with the people the brothers encounter. They saved them, let them experience the good side of why.
4. Good resolution--or establishment of contact--with Castiel, both brothers. I liked the friendship I saw beginning between him and Sam, as well as the obvious attachment to Dean.
5. Intermittent contact with Bobby
6. Contact with Rufus
7. A visit, preferrably, or a call, with Missouri
8. Increasing check-ins with other hunters, rebuilding the network and a better communications/referrals system.
9. Check-ins with Kathleen Hudak (The Benders) and Diana Ballard (The Usual suspects), clueing them in to local hunter contacts. Also a check-in (just a phone call would do in each of these cases--the character needn't even appear onscreen) with Jerry Panowski (Phantom Traveler). It would thrill me beyond belief to hear Dean on the phone with Andrea and Lucas, or Michael and Asher, or either of them talking to Kat, Charlie, Sari and her mom.
10. Depending on how it's handled, periodic check-ins with Lisa and Ben, maybe building to something more permanent.
11. Lindsay? Sarah? Rebecca? Someone for Sam to connect to, start to build a friendship that might lead to something more, when he's ready.
Hey, it's a wish list. No need to be economical! Not like I'm likely to get anything, let alone everything, on it.
Yeah. The Lucifer story needs to be friggin OVER. And I don't see how Sam comes back evil without undoing all the character growth. I'd actually be Ok with this being Not-Sam in Sam's body. Because that gives Dean an excuse for bring Sam back.
Adam? I don't care about so much. An offhand word will do just fine, since I don't need to see him again.
Right there with you on this. He's already had two more appearances than I needed to see. Show, please to be concentrating on characters about whom I mind the idea of disappearing into the void with Lucifer and Michael until the end of time.
