Oh man, a complaint someone just made about Crowley on another board just made an idea occur to me that would be jaw-dropping if true: He showed up relatively recently. Since his first appearance he's been an information broker and collector of rare artifacts. He knew about the Colt and where to track it down. He surrounds himself with the trappings of a luxurious high-class lifestyle. He seems to have opportunistically taken over the crossroads deal business in the wake of Lilith's destruction. He had a weird moment of apprehension regarding the hellhounds. He's fond of spouting innuendo at people. He's manipulating the Winchesters and their allies to achieve his goals, presenting himself in friendly fashion while working to screw them over as he does so. And most importantly, Sam and particularly Dean seem to be written with plunging competence and intelligence whenever he's leading them around by the nose.

What if Crowley is Bela ?

I'm seeing Crowley slashed a bit, but nothing I've really liked. Some of it does predate the last few weeks, even.

I adore Crowley, just like I adore Bobby, but I'm happy to leave their sex lives alone for whatever reason.

Crowley/Castiel amuses.

I just read a Sam/Raphael fic that was so incredibly sappy, with saccharine D/C telepathic "beloveds" and Sam and Raphael making out in the back seat of the Impala. While Dean drives. I have no idea who that woman was actually writing about.

Oh, and Gabriel and Lucifer were totally in love and doing it. Needless to say, I skimmed those parts.

The rare pairing I don't get is Sam/Gabriel. Uh no, not for me. And it seems to have grown in popularity.

ETA: Maybe because Sam needs an angel too?

There *could* have been legit S/G if he hadn't died so soon after coming to their side. But most of the ones I've stumbled upon completely ignore Mystery Spot related trauma. He might work with him, but screw him? Hello?

That having been said, I've bumped into some crack ones that were implausibly funny.

As much as Sassy makes me laugh, dude, that's cold. I can't see that scenario play out in many different ways. He's Dean's angel, for crying out loud. Even if it's platonic between them. You don't go there. My sister does not date my best friend. Which someone should tell her, because she's been trying for 20 years. But that's beside the point.

Tangentially/similarly/off topic I hate the Eliot/Parker pairing. OT3 or go home, people. Unless Hardison is dead, he needs him some Parker and she needs him too.

I love the idea of Sam and Cas becoming friends. Real friends, not just comrades in battle. And, like, double-teaming Dean about watching his cholesterol and stuff. But lovers? Nah. Cas is all about Dean, as it should be.
