Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It would still be a full season, just run without the two usual hiatuses straight through to May or June.

While I appreciate the idea of no hellatus I'm not down with waiting that long until my first new view of the boys. Especially since I figure we're at risk of some sort of cliffhanger.

I would very much like this rumour to not pan out.

Imagine the spoiler whoring then! I'd be shameless. Also, I might run out of fic.

Which reminds me, I really need to fish or cut bait on that Dean/Castiel rec list. Let me see what I have so far.

Yes, yes you do.

Also, the picture thing. To borrow from the other thread, maybe Kane and his hair?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

maybe Kane and his hair?

Yes.

I don't quite know what the question was but the answer is always Yes.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

no new show until midseason

I don't feel very well.

Okay, here go the recs. Not sure how many posts this will turn into, but I'm separating out the light, PG ones for the first post. Some of these have been posted here before, by me and others, and those I've put an asterisk by the title of. Hope I caught them all.

Everything has a rating, and the summaries are the official summaries. Anything in italics is from me.

Good Things Do Happen *
PG: Best zombie christmas ever As previously noted, pure adorable schmoop.

Anonymous: If On a Winter’s Night a Fangirl
PG13 “Chuck,” Becky said, slowly and carefully and very, very seriously. “I think someone is trying to communicate with us through the fanfic.” Fourth wall? What fourth wall?.

Anonymous: Creature of Habit
PG 13 he more you love someone, the more you want to kill them. Or: How Cas developed some bad habits, and Dean coped surprisingly well.

vichan: The Dead Dean Clause *
PG13: Sam drinks himself insane, Dean is drunk and belligerent, and Castiel learns how to lie. But it's still happy. Really.

cloudyjenn: How to Romance a Human
PG13: Castiel consults outside sources for romantic help

pyrebi: Something About Toads
PG13: There's something about a toad, and about a purple moon, and about a gay freakout, and then there's the happy ending.

maychorian: Chocolate Gash Tortoise
PG: Non-metaphorical cupcakes

Library of Sol: Important Angel Business
PG: Sam has no idea how Gabriel got his number. Okay, this is sliding in on a technicality. But a cute one!

sparky77: Spilt Milk *
PG: Sam tried the whole reverse psychology thing on Dean when he was seven. It didn’t end well for Sam or his stuffed elephant.

tales of an unreal city: A Wincest Story
PG: NO ACTUAL WINCEST. Also, curtain!fic.

Twitterpated
PG: Castiel insists that Dean and Sam start using twitter as a means of communication (seriously).

Library of Sol: Browser History
PG13: In which Sam does another sort of research, and Dean is amused

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Less light. Either porn or angst, pretty much, sometimes both.

Anonymous: Public Enemy #1
PG13: "Listen," Sam says patiently. "If someone has to rule Hell, shouldn't it at least be someone we like?"

Sing and I Will Hear You *
PG13: Kitten. In the rain.

My Atelier: A Hole in the World
PG

Strangeness & Charm - Thursday's Child *
NC17: So I got to wondering: what would have happened if past!Dean hadn’t turned up in 2014, and future!Dean had actually succeeded in killing Lucifer with the Colt?

vichan: Reflection of You
R: Dark, drug use, angst, torture, graphic violence, character death, good guys doing bad things, disturbing content, and an even more disturbing inspiration. Both Dean and Castiel are Not Nice people. That might cover all the bases. The End-verse.

aramley: No Stranger in Your Dreams
R: "What would you dream about, Castiel, I wonder?"

Pandarus: The Consequences of Falling.
NC17: A story in fifteen parts, in which the angel Castiel finds himself put in an untenable position, and consequentially loses his grace. In which he goes on a roadtrip with a demon, discovers the delights of tequila and french fries and pie, plays a starring role in a virgin sacrifice, is deflowered by his favourite Winchester, and then gets some very unpleasant news indeed.

tracy_loo_who: Pretty Angel
NC17: Michael has a plan to break Team Free Will, and it involves turning Castiel into a rentboy.

everysecondtues: Things Dean Winchester Loves
R: Castiel makes a list, Sam gives good advice, and Dean takes a while to catch on.

Strangeness & Charm - Three’s A Crowd
NC17: Okay, so, you’re a ghost. And you’re in love with Dean Winchester, but he doesn’t know you exist. Awkward, right? But not nearly as awkward as it gets when the man you love is rescued from Hell by an angel and you realize that they’re destined to end up together.

haruslex: Did what I could, for one of us *
R: The one good thing he can say about the Apocalypse is that it gave him Cas by his side. And he will never let him go. Never.

scaramouche: Close Encounters
R: You know those really cheesy sci-fi/fantasy romantic comedies of the 1980s like Splash, Mannequin and Electric Dreams? This is exactly that.

My Atelier: The Day We Saved The World
R: Dean gets everything he ever wanted.

My Atelier: Welcome to Oz
NC17: Dean wakes up in the cheerfully painted yellow kitchen of a middle class home in Suburbia, USA. There are two things that tip him off to the fact that he’s in a state that ain’t Kansas or reality It took me a bit to get into this, but by the time I did I was completely hooked, and came back and read the whole (long) thing again the next day

aenissesthai: Catalysis
R: Castiel walks into a trap meant for Dean and Sam, spurring a series of increasingly violent reactions from all involved.

somemyth: You Were Just A Dream In The Back Of My Head
R: He doesn't know what it feels like anymore, to love Dean, but he can remember it so vividly it's almost as if he still does.

(continued...)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

scaramouche: Venn Diagram
NC17: The Apocalypse has been averted, but Dean and Castiel didn’t get out of it unscathed. They eventually manage to find a happy ending, of sorts.

narkypoon: I'll be your everlasting
NC17: Dean can't stop staring.

Hear Me: Free with his Hands
NC17: Dean's brand is....sensitive

moonlettuce: Am I Origami
NC17: In which there is Dean. And then another one.

Fic Of Lu!: Equinox
R: In which Castiel is the weird time-traveling freak who just might be the love of Dean Winchester's life.

I hope you like! Man, I wish I hadn't waited to start bookmarking. I'm missing some Sam!POVs in there, and also there's and Endverse fic I'd love to find again with Past!Dean/Castiel. That one really sticks in my head, but not, unfortunately, with the location or author.

Still, I will keep researching.
