I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Thrive to spite them

Yeah the Eye of the Tiger at the end was defintily distracting.

If I watch it again I'll probably just skip over the end part.

I can see John finding out about Mary and her family, but i guess it's just speculation. And some hunter must have clued him in.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

some hunter must have clued him in.

I agree. He never shared anything with the boys he didn't feel they absolutely had to know so I can see him knowing about Mary and not telling.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Last night I was having malformed thoughts of self-worth and self-sacrifice and how the Winchester's have constantly been holding each others lives in higher esteem than their own, and the vicious cycle of self-sacrifice. Which naturally got me to thinking of Charlie Crews and his own epiphany when he traded his life for Dani Reese's. I don't know that it maps onto the stories being told in Supernatural, but I wonder if the idea of realizing that saving your friend/loved one at the price of denying them you wasn't enough, that you were still hurting them. So what do you do? Accept nothing less than bringing yourself back to them, realizing that self-sacrifice isn't the answer, it's just another part of the problem. Valuing yourself and accepting that you are loved and needed and worthwhile.

I don't know if that knowledge of self-worth will or should come to Dean this season, or how that could fit in with the stakes of the Apocalypse, but, there it is...

. . . continues searching for porn... ::bats eyelashes at ita::

(I really need to start eating breakfast): Also, does anyone know what the heck happened to architeuthis? He wrote some absolutely amazing fics and a fabulous fanmix and then *poof*! "Except Thou Bless Me" has got to be the hottest well-written fic ever. And Song of Songs isn't finished!

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Sing and I Will Hear You: PG13 Dean/Castiel, with kitten. And rain.

I would have separated out the kitten thing from the other story. But if that is the only way that I can get Dean rescuing a kitten from the rain, then I will take it. It really was a very nice story (bad things happen but "nice" as in they did a decent job) and I don't know the author so I don't have anything keeping me from focusing on the story.

I don't think pre-S1 Dean was ready to befriend something like that though. He was pretty specist until recently. Although the characterization was pretty good, I thought, of Dean knowing he could never let his Dad or Sam know that he liked cats. They weren't as manly as dogs, which yeah, is a probable Dean fear. Dean didn't want to be seen as anything girl-like (too bad he didn't know his mother better so she could have kicked his ass) so he would hide any affinity for cats.

Okay, but seriously what is with all the huffing? Where did this come from? I don't remember it being in Buffy fic years ago. Is it isolated to SPN fic? The ever present "spilled his cold dead seed" of the Winchester 'verse?

I watched I Know What you did Last Summer and Heaven and Hell.

Poor Dean, that he's got to live with that. But i'm glad Anna forgave him and told him he has people to trust.

Also can I say that Jensen Ackles cries really well and does conflicted and sad and mad at himself and ashamed and disappointed all rolled into one with those tears just very very well.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Okay, but seriously what is with all the huffing? Where did this come from?

The thing that I wonder about is the "Sam gets drunk on two beers" trope that I keep seeing over and over in fics. Given the sheer size of him, and the frequency of their drinking, I would think that it would take a considerable amount of alcohol to put him down. But I keep reading stories where Sam's drunk off his ass after just two or three drinks. Where did that come from?

And yeah, the huffing. It's like Bobby saying "idjit." Or them grabbing each other's jackets in their fists. Just one of those things you expect to see. Over and over and over and over...

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Should we be afraid? Misha Collins will be tweeting during the season finale.

The link says this Thursday. Is this Thursday the finale? I won't be able to concentrate. I'll have to watch (while recording) and refresh his tweets abandoning any watch and post here because it's just too much. Then in order to comprehend anything that happened during the episode, I'll have to immediately watch the recorded episode. But I guess having live Misha to laugh at/with is worth the extra effort.

Also can I say that Jensen Ackles cries really well and does conflicted and sad and mad at himself and ashamed and disappointed all rolled into one with those tears just very very well.

So very much. Bless.

That's true. Sam is barely even going to register two beers.
