To be fair Cassie's mom is believable as a woman that just lost her husband.
Also the two old men playing checkers did a great job with only a few lines and fantastic looks.

See, and sadly, the point where I start howling with laughter is where Cassie's mom is giving the backstory and suddenly, I'm 12 and watching soap operas when I'm sick.
But I maintain my delusion that it's 2/3s of a good episode.
Cassie's mom was *on* a soap for years, too. I can't remember which one, though.
I liked the interaction between Sam and Dean. But then I rarely don't.
I blame the writing for the OTT. She had that crazy eyed hurt animal look that I believed. As opposed to Cassie who was completely detached.
The boys interaction is okay. JP has come so far and both of the characters are so much more 3D.
Oh! To harken to much earlier posts, I loved both those Cas-centric codas. I liked how far they did and didn't go.
I've remembered the gen curtain-fic I thought I could stop reading, but apparently can't--it's not actual curtains, since our boys don't have a home, but they have adopted Dean clones, and everything is about how damaged the wee boys are (SPN/DA crossover). In 20-odd chapters they hunt, like, twice. Everything else is soothing Ben and Alec.
I'm not proud.
You're also not linking. Hook me up!
THEY ADOPT BEN?!?!?!?!? Um, I mean, huh. I might glance at it for a moment if you felt like linking. GIMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
And Sarah Conner had an equally short time with Kyle
To be fair, I'd mock the hell out of Kyle except I crush on Michael Biehn and so I totally get it. Also then he was Jonathon Jackson. He grew up to come through time for her. Yeah, I'd swoon.
And me, please.
I started out as a Dean girl. I wanted to slap Sam about twice every episode but Faith first season, until Devil's Trap. Sam dealing with meltdown Dean and his own "destiny" in S2, I started to come around. It was awesome watching JP grow in the role, and I'm firmly bi-bro now.
I get upset when anybody slags either brother. So I rarely go off the rez to read.
I appreciate the work and dedication of a chart, but the tug for me is totally emotional and non-rational, non-quantifiable. I love it in spite, because. I still can't pick 10 out of the run.
Well, there are recommendations, and then...
Okay. Wellspring series. And a friend of hers wrote an offshoot where they find a Sam clone.
It's all so damned domestic and continually H/C. I thought I was over it, but really, so not.

It has Ben. I read it. Some things just need to be accepted so we can move on.
