Where is the fun in that?
I posted about chasing down the Ackles oeuvre on another board (and really, I'm lax at his movies) and a couple other fangirls chimed in with their own disappointments. Man, what a waste of good talent.
Luckily, I don't remember much about Devour, except for the incredible feeling of deja vu I got watching it.
I do need to work out how to see Ten Inch Hero. Netflix gives me no joy.
I might be able to help with that. I will check when I get home.
I can get it to you, too, ita.
Ooh, that would be great if either of you could help.
chasing down the Ackles oeuvre
I've just accepted that he's a damn good actor who has been in some damn awful things. Ben was fantastic. Alec was awesome. And Eddie G (in Blonde) well, there was the kimono dance. The rest can mostly just be pretended that they don't exist for me.
The kimono dance makes up for many things. As does some of the fic that resulted from it.
ita, insent.

Know this: once watched, it cannot be unwatched. My Bloody Valentine is so much better and it's bad. Devour isn't even enjoyably bad.
Ackles wrings every good thing out of whatever script he's given. But even he can't make crap completely odorless. Or something. He was given *nothing* to do on Smallville. And he had a nice little side plot with whatserface, Ledger's ex, on Dawson's. It was actually fun, but they got four minutes every ten eps, so you know, not much to watch, there. Even Devour had it's moments. But tiny scenes, or bits of scenes, out of 110 minutes of steaming poop just doesn't balance out.
