All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I know! And I just watched the Eureka episode with that particular guest star.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He was in the extremely choppy preview they showed after last week, so no need to whitefont his name.

Oh, no problem, sumi. Just wanted to know if I should mark the post to look at it when I get home. I'd only noticed the one sneak peek so far for this week, instead of the seven million for last week, so I'm assuming they're not intending to kill us this week. Which is kind of them.

Another thing I'm reading about last week is the idea that Zachariah manipulated the memories that came through, and that's why Sam's were all about running away. I think that's kinda cheating, and I prefer the emotional truth that he's just that different from Dean, but he can still love him anyway. I mean, come on. Faith, In My Time of Dying, all of season 3 with Mystery Spot especially? Of course he loves him. But that doesn't mean he didn't have issues with how he was raised.

Because books.

Yes, this.

Sam was absolutely right to want something else for himself. Dean doesn't have to understand that, though. I don't think he's equipped to understand it, really.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think Sam's come to terms with his father a lot more than Dean has. He had that moment in The Song Remains The Same where he got stuff off his chest. Dean, I think, understands he has major father issues, but I'm not sure he's moved past resentment. He hasn't gotten to separating himself from his father in specific and being a substitute for him in general.

Amy, write your fic where Dean meets him in heaven.

Because books.

I think I would set it when Dean dies "for real" on the Wednesday morning in Mystery Spot. Although, crap, that doesn't work, because he would have gone to hell.

Hmm. All those times he died in that episode, did he go to hell each time? Or did the Trickster/Gabriel have him in a holding pattern somewhere?

Wasn't it an immediate reset? Death, brief moment for Sam to react, Sonny & Cher Asia. I haven't watched it in a while, but that's my impression.

You're right--if he dies in S3, hell. And he hasn't died since then, as far as we've seen. Which means, for him to have gone to heaven since then, there have been offscreen deaths. Because Ash died in 2x21, and there's no other way he'd have seen Dean in heaven. The bastards.

Amy - Apr 07, 2010 2:09:53 pm PDT #6924 of 30002
Because books.

I hate making shit like that up, though. But I guess it's fair game since Ash said they've been there, and he's seen them.

I can't think about it till next week, though.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

That episode with the wishing well (or wishing fountain, or whatever it was) and the suicidal teddy bear -- didn't they both die in that one? Let me go check... 4.8 Wishful Thinking. If they died then, did they go to heaven?
