I kept trying to pick a favorite cap to share, but it turns out there is no such thing. I LOVE THEM ALL.
I will say JP also looks gorgeous in that episode through the whole thing. There's nothing different about him except maybe his expressions? The lighting? I don't know, but almost every shot made me sigh.
Sam is definitely not my type of guy, but he got me going here. I spent a fair amount of time trying to pick a favourite screencap. I think I have to come back to this. If I put up two-people pics in bestof, that'd totally be there. Instead I have one of him waking up. Damn, those are some shoulders.
Oh yes. HANDS, neck, pecs, floppy hair. That's a lovely shot.
One of the reasons that I like that shot of him is because he is so free from the burdens of his life. In that moment, you cannot see the torment that is being Sam Winchester. There is just peaceful sleep. Even the protective arm is open loosely to the world.
Yes! And his throat is exposed, and he's on his back. Very vulnerable, trusting position.
Oh I didn't even catch those submission displays.

IMDB says yes. Man was a genius. JP fussed about getting buffed for his shirtless scenes, and crabbed about hand placement, head tilt, lighting, etc. But Kim always knew how to highlight the character moments, bring out small things that give away and reveal things even the actor may not know s/he's playing. True for X-files, true for SPN. I miss his revelatory eye.
