Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't see a reason for Dean to die in service of saving the world, whereas how things are set up, Sam might have to. So Dean might be able to resolve himself to that particular tragedy, but could Dean deal with the reverse?

But I think it would be no easy deal for Dean to move on either, just less impossible, for all possible values of that.

Because books.

Oh, I agree. But I think whereas Sam's been focused so long on the end of the world and the particular demons/hunt, Dean began to grieve a while ago, for everything he's lost, including Sam's innocence and the relationship they used to have.

He also had forty years in hell to be without Sam, or anyone he loved, and I think that might make it a little easier for him to get through the rest of his life without Sam.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I agree with Amy. Hell, I think if nothing else, the notion that his eventual destination might still be back down in hell would keep Dean alive, if not especially functional.

Because books.

I'm stupidly excited for Monday morning and the pilot on TNT at 10 a.m. Like I don't own the DVDs and could watch it whenever I want. Um.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

D'oh! Thanks for the heads up! (And me too on the DVDs. Still.)

Because books.

One of the joys of working at home for me, for sure. No getting out the DVDs, just changing the channel, and instant Winchesters on my screen!

I'm unreasonably excited.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You'll have to keep track of the cuts. Those early eps will probably make even less sense with the extra ad minutes cut out.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I also have the dvds but am unreasonably excited about the TNT premiere. Our little boys are going into syndication. Ima set the recorder now.

ION, the trickster episode rocked again tonight with the reveal of Gabriel. Much Speight love. And you know, I didn't cringe when they were doing Caruso. I just smiled at the silly little silly heads.

I saw Speight on a commercial right after SPN--for the USPS? Toy clown has family at bay on the front porch while it's inside, and the mail carrier tells them to use the Direct Mail box, I think? The dad is Speight. With short dark hair and a mustache. Or his brother. Some relative. The voice is right, the expressions are way less broad. "He's an actor," so I'm thinking it's him. Go, paycheck!

Wow. Watching Criminal Minds episode Open Season. It's kind of eerie how easily it could be mapped into Supernatural - either with the people being hunted not really being people, or as a Sam and Dean go off the deep end tale.
