Well, at least they let it be Ellen and Jo's decision, and let them go out in a heroic manner.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
True, Matt, and it wasn't a semi-meets-the-Metallicar type of cliffhanger.
Yes, that was so sad.
Damn, January 21st. That's a LONG way away.
WARNING: There is a spoiler out there on Twitter. So stay away from any SPN-related tweets. And yes, for coming episodes.
Every time I stop crying I think about it again and lose it. I would have bet it was going to be Bobby. I didn't think it would be Ellen. She and Jo both kicked so much ass. And that she got to say Kim Manners Kick it in the Ass made it an even more noble death for me. Okay, I'm going to go cry some more.
Come over here, Austin. I'm avoiding my flists everywhere. I just want to grieve my beloved characters, not deal with people's issues right now. Not that those issues don't deserve attention, or that people shouldn't feel however they feel and talk about it. I just have simpler priorities right now.
Yes, it was grand and gallant that Jo made her decision and that Ellen let her make it. And then she made her own. Legends, both of them, if anybody lives to tell the tale, to anybody who lives.
To me, that's what's important here. That they chose to fight this battle, that Jo proposed the bomb plan, and that Ellen didn't want her to go out alone. It's heartbreaking, and yeah, it sucks that two of my favorite (two of the only) female characters on the show are now gone for good, but I appreciated very much how it was handled.
Still. ::sniffles again::
:snuggles up to Bev and Amy:
I agree. I knew when they died there would be backlash but Jesus, I think Kripke gave them in their death more agency than they ever had in their life. Not that I want to give him credit for anything so maybe it was Edlund. Anyway, they became as you say Legends because of their choices not anything that happened to them. They happened to it. I lost my favorite character tonight with Ellen but I'm not disappointed at all. That was totally Ellen all the way.
I'm handling this a whole lot better than Wash, actually. Agency, rather than chance.
Bev, YES.
