Applesauce does that to a person!

So, I've found a route home (Rte 1) that avoids a $5 toll each day, which is great, but I realized today that I really love the drive itself even without the added bonus of no toll. It's a lovely road (beats I-95 by a mile. Heh. A mile.), winds through several small towns in MD and PA to bring me to DE. Trees, hills, the Conowingo Hydro Electric Plant. Anyway, today I was thinking that this is the kind of road the Winchester boys could drive along. Kind of wish I wrote fic. I'd call it Conowingo.

Ooh, which towns? I'm trying to remember if it's Route 1 we take the back from West Chester (PA) to get to Kennett Square and Longwood Gardens. Or if Route 1 is the road that Longwood is on ...
I get a lot of "Dean and Sam driving" moments up here because this far north of Syracuse there isn't a lot of traffic and there are a LOT of two-lane roads that wind through country.
It is that road, Amy. I know this, because I was so lost in thought a few days ago, that I drove right past my exit and only realized it when I saw the exit for Kennett Square. Der. And, yeah, Longwood is on that road, too... or at least that's the road we take up to Longwood. I don't think we turn off at any point.
I pass through Bel Air, Perry Hall and several other little spots in Maryland. Once I hit PA it's more expressway-like, passing Jennersville, West Grove, Coachville, Chatham. I get off at the Avondale/Chatham exit and drive right through Avondale, which is LOVELY, over to Rte. 7 in Del.
All through MD, I see these little Mom/Pop diner and restaurants that I can totally picture our boys in.
There's a stripper bar right down the road up here (well, a good ten miles) that I am *quite* sure Dean would love. Whenever we take a road trip, I'm always looking for likely motels, too, the real old independent ones.
That would make a cool book, actually. Someone did one about diners a couple years ago.
Also, my aunt and uncle live in ... Oxford? I think that's it, right off Route 1, in PA.

Yes! I pass that exit, too.
I'm about to duck out of the thread and off LJ, as I won't get to see Show till tomorrow night. Have fun everybody! I will womanfully avoid watching the post number in here climb.
