Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

There are a huge number of fans of SPN who are not only not a part of fandom, but who are unaware of fandom. And then there are those in fandom who are adamantly opposed to slash of any kind, and for whom incest is considered an abomination. Dean's disgust with the idea of Wincest doesn't surprise me at all.

It's one thing for fans of pulp books to write and share their own stories, including but not restricted to Wincest. It's quite another for a character who's "living" a "real life" to admit any interest in or approval of such a notion, is I think where that attitude is coming from.

Thank you. I had been kind of guessing correctly on the Jossed part of things, but I totally didn't get the Kripked angle.

Like my work buddy! Yes, explaining Wincest to him was... awkward. "People really write that?"

(As opposed to other work buddies, who TOTALLY got why I thought the idea of Jar Jar/Wicket was the BEST THING EVER.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I should be clear--when I say I can't get over it, I think it's some of the funniest meta I've ever seen. Comes easier to me as a non-Wincest fan, I suppose, but it reminds me of Ed Quinn's reaction to hearing of Jack/Stark slash.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Oh, dear god, Dean getting Castiel laid is hitting my embarrassment squick so hard.

Also, WTF? But I suppose the whole idea of angels as genderless beings of enormous power kind of went out the door with Anna, anyway. Still. Ewwww.

Also, why would Castiel act embarrassed? He's an angel of the frickin' Lord, not a college freshman with a bad case of backne.

Consuela, that's the same problem I have. As far as Anna goes, at least she was technically in human form at that point, still a human, even though she had regained her memories.

And as far as Castiel is concerned... I think it's either sacrificing any kind of religious veracity to go for the humor in watching Castiel squirm, or they're blantantly sucking up to the fangirls. They tend to show Dean as id-boy, but I think that treating an angel as though he were a frat boy is embarrassing.

I'm not a fan of the Wincest, and I barely remember Dean's reaction because my horror was strong.

I think my issue began when they kicked a hole in the fourth wall. I get twitchy when they cross the streams like that. It's a strange new world, with such showrunners staring back through the television going Y HALLO THAR in it.

I tried the sneak peek again, and I can't help it. It makes me laugh. I guess I read too many of Misha Collins' tweets over the summer. Which is all Fay's fault.

I need to see how it plays out before I can judge it.

I hope it's funny. I'd rather not have to watch from the hall while taking slugs from a fifth of vodka.
