Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks! I wish I trusted my ability to capture SPN voices at any length, because I'd be all over that like white on rice. Though, I suppose, with the format, there doesn't have to be much if any dialogue. But "voice" is more than just what's spoken.

::sigh::

It would also require fanwanking the combination of Azazel and Lucifer's plans, but still (I've never understood how they worked together). I'd have John be killed in the second scenario and as the Righteous man break after some very very long period. His torture would be psychological, involving Mary and Henry and how he did wrong by his kids (aka not raise them in the show way).

I'm not saying he made the best/safest choices, but you know my spiel--he ended up with heroic children who might not be whole, but are doing damned good jobs most of the time.

If I weren't so behind drawing for DCBB (I am ashamed of myself), I'd draw the visual for #4. It breaks my heart and feels right at the same time.

Completely unrelated, I just opened the anon thread again after the longest time, and in an early post about cracky ships had to crack a smile at

I ship Supernatural passing the Bechdel test. Naked.

I see Jo/Anna a fair amount, balanced by Jo/Vic. I like them both, even though the character of Anna is rarely related to what we saw onscreen. Jo/Vic is something I've been shipping, if platonically, for quite a long time: [link] But mostly I ship Meg/Ruby.

Oh, hey, look what someone did (with permission): [link] [nsfw imagery]. She only asked for one, but two is good, two is definitely good.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Trapped in airport, need recs for long fics. Prefer Dean/Cas, but a good story is a good story. AO3 links are good, since I can download. Fire in Chicago means lots of delayed flights, so lots of folks on the wifi.

Because books.

Vortex, I'm alwaysamy on AO3, and I have a bunch of Dean/Cas up. Nothing too long, but I do have a couple End!verse connected stories.

ita would be your go-to for the really long ones.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Try sorting the list by reverse length, so longest first. Of these, I'd quickly recommend:

  • Out of the deep if you don't mind mer!cas : >[link]
  • Angelhawke (what it says on the tin, with Sam as the thief): >[link]
  • Little Motel, substance abuse: >[link]
  • A hole in the world (although asshole John, IIRC): >[link]
  • Born to run (sad ending, I never read it):, fixed in tag): >[link]
  • Into THe Hideaway (well-written A/B/O) angst): [link] the pinupchemist is pretty good all round: >[link]
  • Blackbird fly (don't remember the deets, but don't remember hating it, as weak rec go): >[link]
  • Tramps like us (AU misfits find each other): >[link]
  • Strange New Worlds (sci fi AU where the angels are spaceships:): >[link]
  • Tell Me You Love Me
  • Don't read Wait And See. It starts out innocuously enough but devolves into lifestyle preaching
  • March Stalkers Mighty--loosely based on Beowoulf--humanity is at war with angels who are at war with demons. Dense: >[link]
  • Don't read Soft Touch, Raw Nerve if you've ever had PT
  • SIlverwings--angels are dragons, Cas is special: >[link]
  • Carry On--Dean does live in subbing to pay for Sam's schooling: >[link]
  • All the things Shining: interesting mythos: [link]
  • The Shadow at my WIndow (loose Peter pan with show conflicts): >[link]
  • The Seraph (octoCas, some Stockholm Syndrome, but I bought it in the end): >[link]
  • America's top Chef (nice and light): >[link]

Also, try everything by MooseFeels: [link] and scaramouch (Annie D) and grab their longer works.

The smallest of the stores I recc'ed you is 133K, so there should be good reading for you, even if you don;t feel for my type exactly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hope you or anyone else had a chance to read some of those. I have no excuse for not reading novels, because those are some lengthy motherfuckers.

I'm at the point where I skim most sex scenes, but MooseFeels makes every word count, and does Annie D.

So many of the stories are the same--John was an ass and messed up Dean when he came out so he's on the circuit looking to get hurt, and Castiel is is saviour who loves him back to wholeness. I don't know if writers check what's out there, but why should I even start your self-pity? There's so much going around.

The landscape needs new conflicts. My bang stories are a royal marriage of strangers (mini, time to draw more than that--the fact that the required amount is 1 500x500 seems so sad), and Cas and Dean meeting again at Sam and Jess's wedding after a blowout (not job) misunderstanding at high school turned them into bitter enemies. I really like my art for this. She needs two more pics (I'm over the min which is two pics), which I'm sure she'll get by her date (Nov 3rd).

I'm experimenting for the mini bang with dark colours and trying to be all Gustave Dore.

Sadly, I am no Gustave Dore. But my artist is patient. The biggest problem is that she is very visually precise in her descriptions so it makes it nervewracking to draw for her.

Here's my schedule:

  • Oct 3: Shared Skies, minibang, author artsiel (makes me even more nervous about arting for her!)
  • Nov 13: Forget-me-not Blues, big bang, author noangelsinthegarrison

DCBB is letting you post your stories off LJ, as long as you post a 500x500 banner in the community linking to that. Are many traditionally LJ bangs doing that? It really feels like an end of an era--one I'm contributing to, but I still think it allows for things the other fora don't yet (like anon comms, for instance, which I think can be evil, but can also be very informative).

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

My Tivo has picked up a Supernatural special on Monday night 10/6 called "A Very Special Supernatural Special". The description is "A behind-the-scenes look at the first nine seasons; interviews with actors Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard, series creator Eric Kripke....a look at season ten.

Also, The Flash is going to run three minutes long on Tuesday, so Supernatural will also start and end 3 minutes late.

Because books.

I can't wait for the retrospective! Although I don't know why -- I was there for all nine seasons. But interviews! And bonus J and J is always a good.

Because books.

Supernatural is on the front page of IMdB today, with a video interview about the new season!

If you need motivation to watch, Jensen uses the word "tizzy" unironically.

Watching the Special Supernatural Special. Jared and Jensen appear to be sitting in similar chairs, yet Jensen appears to be the taller of the two. What magic is this?
