Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Because books.

Poor lonely thread.

Snooki was amazingly not completely sickening. And there was plenty of Jensen!arm in this one, which was nice.

I just wish I knew where they were going with the end of the season.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Bad weather broke up my signal so I missed some stuff at the end. What did Crowley say to the guys?

He's keeping the blade until they find Abbadon. Also, that they may not be able to trust him, but he can't trust them either.

I think he and Sam broke up.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I thought it was interesting that despite their estrangement, despite Sam's "You're not getting why I'm still pissed," and Dean's "You don't appreciate what I do for you" standoff, the thing that drove this ep wasn't the search for the blade, but "Let my brother go," and "Don't you hurt my brother!" Still. Always.

I like the fact that it's Dean's addiction now that's driving them, and I hope the writers actually develop it, rather than just letting it drop. I like seeing Dean fighting a situation that turns on *him* and not Sam. Likewise, I like seeing Sam using that big analytical brain of his to work out a way to save Dean. Please, all the writer-gods, *please* this time, let Sam save Dean. I like to think/hope that Sam talking Dean into turning loose of the blade foreshadows that.

And just a footnote: Major Lorne! The Magnus actor, Kevan Smith, is an SG:1/SGA veteran. He was Sheriff Andy Mark II, as Ty was Sheriff Andy Mark I, in Eureka.

What do you mean by Dean's addiction? The need to find the blade?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

When Magnus forced Dean to hold the blade, it affected him strongly. Magnus told him that the next time it would be easier, and it would get easier every time after that. The effect on Dean was to hold onto the blade, to release his own judgement and be guided by the blade, and by Magnus' will.

It's been hinted that using the blade *will* affect Dean, further removing his conscience, judgement, compassion, and making him into less himself, more a weapon, and that the more he uses it and bonds with it, the less he wants to give it up. Witness Sam having to get through to whatever bond it has so far to get him to drop the blade in this episode. That effect is supposed to get stronger. It may not be an actual addiction, as such. But it appears to function similarly.

Oh, gotcha. The word addiction just confused me.

I'm still thinking about Jensen's arm in that scene, because that's how very shallow I am.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I find it a little far fetched that I have only a vague idea of who Snooki is but the Winchesters recognized her.

Because books.

The CW audience is probably going to recognize her, though, which is more the point.
