We did get Samandriel for a bit, but of course being a sympathetic angel he was nerfed into helplessness and killed off in short order.

Cas had unconflicted good angels on his side, didn't he? Rachel was good--better than Castiel, which was what got her killed. Samandriel, as noted, but I think he counts. Inias was a good guy, in my estimation too.
The idea that espousing enough free will to get noticed got them killed makes perfect sense, otherwise Castiel wouldn't have had a sense of jeopardy about him.

Watching it downloaded first means I often forget to check the preview--I stumbled onto stills while looking for Castiel reference pictures, and whoa! First I had to doublecheck that it wasn't spoilery, and either way I've been avoiding the ship fandom as much as possible.
