"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah. Though I'd have happily bought him tracking down the Colt again and using that in the same manner, as it was supposed to be effective against anything except archangels (and presumably Death himself).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah--if angel bullets in the Colt killed archangels, or if you had to intricately bespell the angel bullets, or if they disappeared when the angel holding them died...but I don't think Crowley even picked up the one from Ion's pal.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I haven't finished watching yet, but I just want to say that I want Charlie's comment about the Supernatural books going online be the key to win over Metatron, that that ends up being their offering of stories.

It would be interesting to see if histories interest him as much as things that never/can't/didn't happen.

Charlie Jane has a renewed love for the show, so they didn't tell me they didn't need my review until after I'd written mine. Pfft.

In The Real Ghostbusters Chuck talks about starting up publishing again, so the next book would feature Cas, right? The original run ended at No Rest for the Wicked, if I'm remembering correctly.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I'll have to rewatch this ep and the one with the last time we saw Kevin, because I'm a bit confused on timelines and emotional states.

Also, shapeshifting demons? Since when? How does that hold water?

I did like the insight into the angel politicking from when God retired. I'm guessing Gabriel left before all that went down. I'm just wondering where in the heirarchy Naomi falls, since she's not an archangel (I assume), and from whence she got her power to control angels and wipe memories. Not a grunt, not an archangel, maybe higher up than Zachariah? Where was she in the Lucifer/Michael showdown apocalypse mess? Waiting to see which side won and swoop in with her plan Z?

Grand Canyon: I can't remember if that was a fanon thing or actually mentioned in canon, regarding wanting to one day see it.

Yes, and that's when they tell him they'll kill him if they do.

Since they walked out through an energy wall, I'm assuming there's a glamour spell at work.

I had assumed that Metatron left first, because he left archangels jockeying, and that sounded really really early. Like, maybe even before Lucifer--not sure about that.

It seems that Zachariah is Garrison, and Naomi is Intelligence, so they may very well be similar levels.

Canyon's canon--it was a suggestion of something Dean could do before he died.

Maybe I'm confusing canon with actual Bible lore, but God was aroung to cast Lucifer down, yes? So I'd say, if that is correct, that God departed sometime after, and that Metatron skidaddled soon after that, just as the rest of the angels started to raise a fuss. But a part of me thinks that God leaving just after casting Lucy down would have caused a fuck-ton of problems (civil war, loss of brothers, Dad ditches). It seems more reasonable that after the civil war and Lucifer's fall, things went on for a bit, God restored order, and then ditched.

The way he referred to the archangels as a unit made me think he left before they were, enh, decimated.

But they weren't "decimated" until more current timelines, right? Recently, Michael and Lucifer alive but locked up, Raph dead, Gabe Dead. So leaving before that could mean leaving in 1999. Maybe our head canons aren't lining up as to when a lot of the internal politics went down. I've just been assuming that the tablets being written and hidden, Metatron fleeing, Naomi brainwashing angels, has been happening for millenia/centuries, since whenever God left the building.

Lucifer cast out, God retires, archangels flip out, Metatron flees, Naomi opportunizes, Zach and Raph conspire, Zach fails, Raph fails, Naomi waits in the wings and pounces once the big dogs are out of the way.

Maybe.
