Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think that Dean and Sam count in the same way as unrelated Victors, for instance, since they're deliberate by the text. Amy is the one that drives me batshit--Novak, Pond, Sam's picnic lady? Really? You needed back to that well?

Amy is the one that drives me batshit

Hey, it's an awesome name ...

If that is really your name.

Oh, and Cowboy Junkies is the emo-est, but it was a weird band name to pick out of a hat, I think.

Is anyone besides me just a tiny bit displeased that they deviate from the standard angelic names for ones that seem to prefer/default to a female host? I mean, why not Saraqael instead of Naomi? The angels themselves aren't supposed to be gendered creatures, though they use "brothers" as a default descriptor rather than the neutral "siblings."

Because books.

They do seem to be using Biblical names, though -- Rachel, Naomi, etc. Michael and Gabriel aren't especially angelic, either.

Marcia--put it on my tab.

Michael and Gabriel aren't especially angelic, either.

But we do explicitly know popular angels Gabriel and Michael. I don't know anything about an angel Balthazar or Zachariah, so I hadn't been thinking of it as a female host issue. It seemed fucking lucky Castiel is an angel's name, and even so, it's only barely.

Right. I only meant Michael and Gabriel don't have the -zar or -iel ending. Which I guess is ... angelish.
